LT. GENERAL KAMOLI RETIRES FROM OFFICE

The Office of the Prime Minister (PM) has announced that the Commander of the Lesotho Defence Force (LDF), Lieutenant General Tlali Kamoli will duly retire from his service with effect from December 01 this year.

Retirement follows mutual understanding agreement, which has been reached between the government and the Commander.

According to the Press briefing from PM's Office, the announcement has been made in accordance with Section 23 (2) of the Lesotho Defence Force Act No-4 of 1996.

It further said His Majesty King Letsie III accepted the advice of the Prime Minister regarding the succession of Lt General Kamoli from the Army Command and to this effect, Major General Khoantle Mots'omots'o will take over as the Commander with effect from the day that Lt. General Kamoli will leave office.

Meanwhile, Major General Mots'omots'o occupied the office of the LDF Commander when Lt. General Kamoli was sent on a leave of absence through the Maseru Security Accord spearheaded by South Africa Deputy President who was assigned as the SADC Facilitator on Lesotho's political and security issues.
