The South African High Commissioner to Lesotho, Mr. Sello Moloto has called on Basotho students studying in South African schools to immediately report to the South African High Commission in Maseru during office hours.
These students are the grade 7 and 12 and are expected to bring Travelling Documents (Passports), Study Permits and prove that they have registered for Grades 7 and 12 from their schools so to facilitate the process.
This announcement follows the decision by the government of the Republic of South Africa to open schools for grade 7 and 12 student on June 01, 2020 since the country has eased lockdown regulations to level 3.
The National Emergency Command Centre (NECC) therefore appeals to parents, guardians and students during this process to ensure compliance with prevention measures against the pandemic thus to enhance ‘Save Lives’ campaign which is aimed at ensuring protection and safety of Basotho.
Parents, guardians and students are urged to wear masks as this in line with Public Health (COVID-19) Regulations, 2020, observe social distancing rule as well as to frequently wash hands with soap or use sanitizers.
