The newly appointed U.S. Embassy Chargé d’affaires Mr. Thomas Hines will visit the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) Lesotho II leadership in Maseru on Monday.
According to the report by the U.S Embassy, Mr. Hines will meet the leadership of MCA-Lesotho II and staff to discuss progress on the implementation of the Health and Horticulture Compact.
The discussion between Mr. Hines and the Leadership of MCA Lesotho II will also focus on the accomplishments of the MCA-Lesotho II since the entry into force of the compact.
In response to the recent call from Millennium Challenge Corporation and the Minister of Finance and Development Planning for vigilance against fraud and corruption, which diverts resources away from the most deserving beneficiaries, Mr. Hines will recognize and applaud MCA Lesotho II for its proactive approach in mitigating the risk of fraud and corruption in the implementation of the Compact activities.
MCA–Lesotho II is the authorized implementing entity of the Government of Lesotho responsible for implementing the Health and Horticulture compact with Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).
