HEALTH CONFIRMS NEW CASES

The Ministry of Health has confirmed that Lesotho has recorded 19 cases of coronavirus as the spread has begun to take the turn that would put the nation at risk.
Addressing the media at the press conference on Wednesday, the Incident Manager of COVID-19, Dr Llang Maama said the COVID-19 spread in Lesotho has transformed and began to increase hence force Basotho to change their attitude towards the virus.
Moreover, Dr Maama said Basotho should be loyal to home quarantine to be able to fight the virus, appealing to people who use illegal border post when entering the country should report themselves to health facilities for testing.
At the same occasion, Director of Health Services, Dr Nyane Letsie announce that testing of COVID-19 is now done in the country hence there will be more results publish for the public to be informed. She commented that this is the breakthrough and huge success for the country.
She said the laboratory testing commenced early month (June), noting that World Health Organization (WHO) gave Lesotho a go ahead to do its testing in the country.
In conclusion, Dr Letsie mentioned that only essential workers are allowed in the country and long-term workers have to be quarantine for 14 days, stressing that short term workers will bring Clearance certificates from their countries.
To date, Lesotho has tested 3, 000 specimens, 2,983 were found negative, 17 positive with two recoveries and still at zero deaths.
