HIS MAJESTY ARRIVES FROM JAPAN

His Majesty King Letsie III and his entourage arrived at the Moshoeshoe I International Airport from Japan and Rome on Wednesday.
Upon arrival at the Airport, His Majesty was welcomed by the Deputy Prime Minister, Dr Monyane Moleleki, ministers and Senior government Officials and inspected the Guard of Honour.
Speaking with the agency at the Airport, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Mr. Mothepu Mahapa commended the cordial relations that exists between Japan and Lesotho, saying His Majesty’s attendance to the enthronement ceremony of the new Japanese Emperor Naruhito Akihito is a testimony to this good relations.
Mr. Mahapa said after the enthronement ceremony, His Majesty  proceeded to Rome where he met the newly appointed Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) Director General, adding that in his capacity as FAO Special Ambassador, he highlighted at this meeting the importance of countries to work hand in hand so as to promote proper nutrition.
His Majesty and his counterparts in this regard are said to be convinced that it is only when people eat nutritious meals that quality health can be maintained while also minimizing risks of diseases.
His Majesty’s entourage included Her Majesty Queen Masenate Mohato Seeiso, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Private Secretary to His Majesty, Mr. Monehela Posholiand the Principal Chief of Leribe, Chief Joel Molapo.
