HIS MAJESTY CALLS BASOTHO TO PRAY

His Majesty King Letsie III has called on the entire nation to pray hard and seek God’s intervention during this time when the world is faced with the attack by Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
Delivering his statement on national television on Friday, His Majesty urged all to pray to God to save and protect Lesotho and Basotho, not leaving behind those in the forefront in the fight against this pandemic, such as doctors, nurses and the security agencies.
He urged everyone not to cease praying, especially during this time of the lent as it heads to Easter holidays, adding that although Christians will not be able to mark the holidays in the similar manner of all times due to the pandemic. He therefore appealed to all to pray God to rescue this country and its nation.
Moving forward, His Majesty commended the government of Lesotho for measures undertaken to combat the disease, thereby appealing to all to comply and adhere to all guidelines and protocols intended to save their lives.
Furthermore, he thanked development partners, United Nations (UN) agencies, businesses and entrepreneurs who assisted Lesotho in all forms during this time, saying Lesotho is at the beginning of the war against this pandemic, hence appealed to them to further assist in order to overcome this virus.
It is with this regard that His Majesty cautioned that the pandemic does not discriminate whom it affects, commenting that it affects everyone regardless of religion, race, age and social status.
In conclusion, His Majesty referred to Psalm 91 verses 1 to 4 that says, “’He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty… “, further encouraging the public to put their trust in God.
Lesotho is on its eighth day of the lockdown and only essential services that include provided by health, security agencies, special financial institution services, grocery shops, pharmacies and medical stores.
