ICT HOSTS VIRTUAL DNS TRAINING

The Department of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) in the Ministry of Communication, Science and Technology is currently holding one-week virtual training on Domain Name System (DNS) for senior ICT Engineers and senior government officials.
This is according to the Head of Skills, Development and Capacity Building for e-Government Infrastructure Project Phase I, Mr. Puso Moetsana who said trainees have been drawn from telecommunication operators ( Econet Lesotho and Vodacom Lesotho), the Lesotho Revenue Authority (LRA), Lesotho Communication Authority (LCA), Lesotho Electricity Company nine government ministries.
Mr. Moetsane said this training is one of the key tasks in the capacity-building component to ensure an accelerated skills-upgrade path to support the DNS architectural design and internet ecosystem of Lesotho.
The training covers DNS overview, general functionality & load balancing, Zones, protocol & reverse zones and advanced BIND configuration, DNS Operation & additional DNS features among others.
He said this virtual training is presented by the CentralNic Group Plc of United Kingdom, saying this is an International Service Provider listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE: CNIC)
It is supported by the Lesotho Government and the African Development Bank.
