Their Majesties King Letsie III and Queen Masenate Mohato Seeiso will be among the 4500 guest expected to attend South African President inauguration on Saturday including Heads of State of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region.
The inauguration’s theme is ‘Together Celebrating Democracy: Renewal and Growth for a Better South Africa’.
The Press Attache in the Prime Minister’s Office, Mr. Thabo Thakalekoala confirmed that Their Majesties will be among those to witness the inauguration and they are leaving the country on Friday.
He said Lesotho delegation will also include the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Monyane Moleleki, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Lesego Makgothi and protocol officials.
According to information from the South Africa Presidency Office, the inauguration ceremony will be led by Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng and that President elect, Cyril Ramaphosa will address the nation and share his vision for the country for the next five years.
Mr. Ramaphosa is the sixth democratically elected President following this month’s elections which ushered the African National Congress (ANC) in as the ruling party.
“This year, unlike other years, the inauguration ceremony will be held at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria instead of the usual Union Buildings,” says the statement..
