Lesotho General Certificate for Secondary Education (LGCSE) examination registration has been extended until further notice.

The Minister of Education and Training, Mr. Mokoto Hloaele announced this in an official statement on Sunday.

The Minister said the extension is due to lockdown, which came as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, saying the deadline for registration will be announced in due time when the lockdown has been lifted.

Mr. Hloaele further informed the public about the cancellation of the LGCSE supplementary examinations also due to the Coronavirus (COVID-9) pandemic.

He added that the ministry is in discussions with the school proprietors to map a way forward regarding the school fees.

He therefore urged the public to be on the alert and keep accessing local media so that they would access updates about the coming developments.

All the schools in the country, including primary, secondary, high and tertiary schools were closed on March 19 following the Prime Minister’s declaration of the COVID-19 pandemic a National of Emergency.
