LMS ANTICIPATES POSSIBILITY OF SNOW 

There is a possibility of light to moderate snowfall over the high-lying areas and rain showers elsewhere from Thursday evening to Friday.

This is according to the release from Lesotho Meteorological Services (LMS) on Wednesday. The statement states that very cold conditions are expected on Friday.

According to the release, these weather conditions are expected to improve on Saturday, further anticipates weather conditions might cause some disruption on the roads connecting the lowlands to the highlands.

It states that the affected areas are particularly in the eastern highlands such as in Qacha’s Nek and Sehonghong to mention the few.

It adds that the nation is therefore encouraged to take precautions and advised the nation to stay alert for frequent updates.

Snowy and cold weather conditions are common in Lesotho during winter and at times temperatures drop below ten degrees Celsius in most parts of the country.

Lesotho winter ranges from May to August, lows are slightly above freezing (0 °C or 32 °F), while highs are around 16/19 °C (61/66 °F) during this period.
