NEDBANK DONATES TO LMPS

The Nedbank Lesotho donated a cheque amounting to M60 000.00 and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worth M6 000 to the Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) at the event held in Maseru on Tuesday.
When handing over the donations, the Managing Director of Nedbank Lesotho, Mr. Nkau Matete said this is a token of appreciation to LMPS as they are doing a great job of protecting their property, saying the banks are most targeted by fraudsters.
He noted that as the bank, it is their responsibility to give back to the community and that they have been in touch with the Police Training College hence felt a need to help them with the PPEs to enhance the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
When receiving the donation, the Commissioner of Police Lesotho Holomo Molibeli thanked Nedbank for the donation, wishing it success in its business so that it continues with its social responsibility thus giving back to the community. He said God blesses the hand that gives more than the one that receives.
He mentioned that it is also their responsibility as police to help Nedbank Lesotho to grow therefore LMPS will continue to work hand in hand with the bank.
The Commissioner said LMPS has a shortage of resources but receiving this kind of donation makes their work easier.
He stressed that for the past weekend, they recorded five cars that were stolen at gunpoint in one night, saying they have invented new strategies which will be used to curb the high rate of crime in the country.
He promised that his office together with his team are working tirelessly to stop this type of criminal activity from happening, therefore warned criminals to stop their activities.
