NEW GAZETTE EASES LOCKDOWN RESTRICTIONS

The Minister of Health, Mr. Motlatsi Maqelepo says the legal notice No. 52 of 2020 which has been issued by government will ease lockdown restrictions during this state of emergency.
The Minister said this when addressing the media at the National Emergency Command Centre (NECC)  on Friday.
When unpacking the new regulations, Mr. Maqelepo said grocery shops will start operating from 08:00 am to 8:00 pm while liquor stores will operate from 08:00am-5:00pm Monday to Friday.
Talking about transport, he said public transport will continue to abide by WHO recommendations and public health regulation 2020, however in the case of 22 seater mini bus and 65 seater bus, the vehicle will stickily have all seated passengers only, noting that the 4+1 taxi will still carry only 3 passenger.
In conclusion, the Minister stressed that all safety measures in respect with World Health Organization will continue to be observed to curb the spread of COVID-19.
At the same occasion, Senior Assistant Commissioner Ezekiel Senti urged the public to abide by the COVID-19 regulations as failure to abide by them will lead to serious consequences.
