Honourable Minister of Education and Training
Honourable Prof. Ntoi Rapapa
Honourable Ntoi Rapapa is the Minister of Education and Training. In July 2017, he was appointed to the position of the Deputy Minister of Education and Training following the June 2017 snap elections and was promoted to his current position in April 2018. He is also a Member of the Senate.
Professor Rapapa holds a Ph.D. (Physics) from the University of Manchester (United Kingdom) 1996 -1999. In 1994-1995, he obtained Advanced Post Graduate Diploma (Physics) from the International Centre of Theoretical Physics in Italy. He graduated at the National University of Lesotho with Bachelor of Science (Physics and Mathematics) in 1993.
Honourable Rapapa has worked as Chief Executive Officer of the Lesotho Electricity and Water Authority (LEWA) since October 2010 until September 2016 when he joined politics, contesting for the Alliance of Democrats candidacy in the Constituency of Mosalemane No. 19. He has also worked at the National University of Lesotho as an Associate Professor since 2009 – 2010.
In 2004 – 2009, he served at NUL as Senior Lecturer and a Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer while in 1999 – 2004 he was a lecturer and an Assistant Lecturer from 1995 to 1996. While studying at the University of Manchester, he was a Teaching Assistant from 1993 to 1994 and Tutorial Assistant from 1997 to 1999.
Honourable Rapapa is married and blessed with two children, a daughter and son.
