Honourable Minister of Communications, Science and Technology
Honourable Thesele John Maseribane
Honourable Thesele Maseribane is the Minister of Communications, Science and Technology. He was appointed to his current position following Cabinet reshuffle in April 2018. He is a Member of Parliament representing the Basotho national party (BNP). He is also the Leader of the BNP which forms part of the current Lesotho’s Coalition Government.
Honourable Maseribane has achieved High school and post high school academic credentials with reputable Institutions thus making him relevant to today’s political dynamics. Born from the royal family, Honourable Maseribane is imbrued with the traditional norms of society and principles of leadership and governance.
In June 2017, Honourable Maseribane was appointed the Minister of Public Service following June 2017 snap elections, the position he held until April 2018 when he was transferred to his current position. He also served as Minister of Gender and Youth, Sports and Recreation from 2012 to 2014.
Chief Maseribane has previously served as the Basotho National Party Youth League President. He is a Leader founded in principles of democracy, a great proponent of clean, uncorrupt and sound governance. He was part of the leaders who formed the first Lesotho Coalition Government in 2012. He has been a force of unity, peace and stability amongst his counterparts in the previous administration and the current one.
Honourable Maseribane is a seasoned politician who amongst other things advocates for the rule of law, reconciliation, and stability thus creating necessary environment for economic development in the mountain kingdom. He remains clear that Basotho and Lesotho is priority beyond any self-aspirations. He is the leader who believes in four pillars of development namely: Quality Education; Economic Growth; Agriculture and Job Creation.
Honourable Maseribane is a loyal member of the Catholic Church, who is compassionate and advocates for excellent service delivery to the entire Basotho Nation. He is married and is blessed with three children and three grandchildren.
