PM ARRIVES FROM NEW YORK

The Prime Minister, Dr Motsoahae Thomas Thabane and his entourage arrived in the country on Monday from New York, United States of America (USA) where he attended the 74th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Speaking with LENA upon arrival at the Moshoeshoe I International Airport, Press Attaché in the Prime Minister, Mr. Thabo Thakalekoala said while in New York, the Prime Minister delivered a speech that reaffirmed world Leaders’ about Lesotho’s commitment in completing the journey of reforms.
He also mentioned that Dr Thabane also met the President of Ireland and both agreed that it is  important for Ireland to re-open its Embassy in Lesotho for promotion of ties between the two countries.
Mr. Thakalekoala added that the Prime Minister also participated in Climate Change Forum where world leaders agreed to embark on all measures that will address the negative impacts of climate change and that access to universal health care remains a key issue if all are to live a better life.
The Prime Minister and his delegation that included the First Lady, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations and Senior Government officials were welcomed at the Airport by Cabinet ministers and senior officials from the security agencies.
