QMMH MANAGEMENT STARTS DUTIES

The new management of Queen Mamohato Memorial Hosptal (QMMH) is led by Dr Chale Moji who is the Manager of the hospital and the deputy is Dr Lipontšo Makakole while Col. Mammoi Mofelehetsi oversees the administration operations.
Head of Nursing Services is Mrs. Mathaabe Raseleso while Dr Makhetha Mosotho heads the Public Health Services  in Maseru and Sister Catherine Lebina oversees nursing services.
The Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Health introduced the new management to the hospital staff. This follows the handing over of services by Tšepong PTY (LTD) to the government through the Ministry of Health.
Mr. Khothatso Tšooana said appointment of these personnel was based on individual work record from their different workplaces, saying they all resumed their duties on August 01, 2021.
He added that both the government and Tšepong worked tirelessly to improve health services in Lesotho, remarking that it is sad that Tšepong leaves.
He said they will remember all the effort it pulled through in the process of making Basotho live better.
He therefore urged the new management and the staff to work cooperatively for the betterment of health services, noting that it is only through the joint effort so that the set goals can be achieved.
Also speaking, the Director General Health Services, Dr ‘Nyane Letsie said QMMH will continue to work as the referral hospital hence referrals will be made from district, saying all referral systems must be functional to avoid all the unnecessary ques at the hospital.
Dr Letsie noted that all clinics, which served under Tšepong will be rolled out under the new management, commenting that the hospital is named after someone who was indeed a hard worker and wished everyone a better living hence the aim is to keep that thriving by providing outstanding health services.
Speaking on behalf of Tšepong, Prof. Lehlohonolo Mosotho who is the Manager thanked the government of Lesotho for giving them an opportunity to run the hospital, saying it was their wish to continue working with the government however promised that if given another chance, they would gladly grab it once again.
The handing over of QMMH and its four primary care clinics follows the termination of the contract between the Government of Lesotho and Netcare.
