He pointed out that during the visit, the President Brahim Ghali will update Lesotho government on the latest developments on Sahrawi Republic issues.
Mr. Thakalekoala noted that Mr. Ghali will take an advantage to solicit Lesotho’s support to his country’s consistent and commendable efforts for the ultimate independence from Morocco.
He further highlighted that during the last visit to Sahrawi Republic in May 2013, the Lesotho PM reiterated the country’s commitment in fighting for the independence of Sahrawi Republic.
During his visit, President Brahim Ghali and his delegation will pay courtesy call to His Majesty King Letsie III, the Prime Minister, President of Senate and the Speaker of the National Assembly. They will also tour Metolong Dam and Thaba-Bosiu Cultural Centre.
The Sahrawi Republic, officially the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) was declared on February 27th, 1976, when Spain abdicated its legal responsibilities and relinquished its control over the Western Sahara without organizing a referendum. In 1982, the Organization of African Unity (OAU) admitted the SADR as a member, acknowledging its status as the sovereign government of the Western Sahara.
