SNOW, VERY COLD WEATHER ANTICIPATED

Snow is expected over high-lying areas of the country commencing today (Friday) at night to Sunday.
The Lesotho Meteorological Services (LMS) press release has stated, noting that the anticipated snow is likely to become moderate and disruptive over the northern highlands of Botha-Bothe, Thaba-Tseka and the eastern highlands of Mokhotlong on Saturday.
The release further states that rain is predicted at other areas, and very cold weather conditions are forecast to set in from Saturday lasting until Wednesday next week.
It adds that extremely cold conditions are forecast to be experienced in the southern parts especially in Qacha’s Nek and Quthing on Saturday and Sunday. Overall temperatures are expected to start improving on Thursday next week.
The nation is therefore encouraged to be cautious when traveling to and from the highlands as roads may become inaccessible, and is advised to stay tuned to local media for frequent updates from LMS.
