TJ GENERAL DEALER DONATES TO MINISTRY OF EDUCATION

The Minister of Education and Training, Mr. Mokoto Hloaele on Monday received 500 masks and 540 litres of hand sanitizers from TJ General Dealer (PTY) LTD at the event held in Maseru.
When receiving the donation, Mr. Hloaele said the donation will help the ministry to enhance protection of students from the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
He noted that currently, the world lives under frozen circumstances and Lesotho is not an exception in this case as people do not have freedom of movement due to lockdown.
He noted that the masks and hand sanitizers received will assist them to curb the spread of COVID-19, thanking God for protection thus far, as Lesotho has not registered any cases of the virus.
Presenting the products, TJ General Dealer Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr. John Kinney said the initiative is part of their social responsibility as they have been part of the ministry by feeding the students.
He said they are determined to support the government in the fight against COVID-19 until the solution is found, appealing to the ministry’s authority to ensure that this equipment will benefit students and protect them against the virus so that they will continue with their studies when school resumes.
In an interview, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Primary, Mrs. Thuto Nts’ekhe-Mokhehle said the masks and hand sanitizer will be distributed to all the schools throughout the country.
She however noted that priority will be given to schools that are found in dry areas where there is shortage of water, saying others will be expected to use running water and soap to wash their hands.
She further stated that these products will be used mainly by people who handle and distribute food among the students.
This donation is part of many presented to government from local companies with the aim to enhance fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
