The Vodacom Lesotho Managing Director, Mr. Phillip Amoateng handed over 1000 cellular phones worth 700,000,00 to Minister of Health, Mr. Nkaku Kabi to help towards the fight against COVID-19.
These phones were donated to the Ministry of Health through National Emergency Command Centre (NECC) at an event held in Maseru on Wednesday.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Amoateng said it is their intention to use all technological abilities to help government in the fight against corona virus.
“Ours is service, if we get any opportunity to serve, we do so,” he remarked.
When accepting the donation, Mr. Kabi urged those who will be distributing the phones to target amongst others health professional placed in different borders in the country, saying this will enable health professionals to quickly communicate especially when people continue to use illegal entry post.
These phones with airtime are also meant to be used by front line health professionals placed in different places countrywide.
