NATIONAL CONTACT CENTRE, PRO WORKSHOP

National Contact Centre (NCC) and Public Relations Officers (PRO) held a workshop on Thursday.

Acting  Director Information, Ms Pulane Ntjantja, from the Ministry of Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation explained  that the purpose of the workshop is to bring together the PRO’s of different ministries to enable information sharing.

“The purpose of NCC is to work together with PRO’s in order to ensure that the public receives good services from ministries,” she said.

On the same token, Mr Khiba Masiu, Director General ICT, Ministry of Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation highlighted that the NCC represents a critical component in the digital transformation journey for Lesotho.

“It serves as a central hub for communications between the government and its citizens, providing a streamlined, efficient and accessible platform for service delivery and information dissemination,” he said.

He stated that they are in the final stages of developing the National Digital Policy and Digital Transformation Strategy, the establishment and enhancement of the National Contact Centre are vital.

“This centre is more than just a communication tool, it is the embodiment of our commitment to improving government transparency, responsiveness and service delivery through digital means,” mentioned Mr. Masiu.

Mr. Masiu highlighted that the aim of NCC is to enable citizens to easily access government services, ask questions and receive timely support.

“It will also serve as a valuable feedback mechanism allowing the government to understand and respond to the needs and concerns of the public more effectively,” he stated.

Furthermore, Mr. Ts’ebeletso Tumahole, from NCC, indicated that the process is that people talk to the agents from NCC, then they get in contact with the PRO’s of different ministries.

“After contacting the PRO’s, they contact the necessary department where the complaint is being lodged, then they give feedback to the NCC within 3 days,” he added.

In conclusion, he urged the PRO’s to be cooperative in order for the success of providing good services to the citizens.
