IWPG LESOTHO COMMITTEE ORGANISES ART COMPETITION 

The International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) Lesotho Peace Committee held the sixth Loving Peace Art competition for learners in different High schools in the country on Saturday.
In an interview with the Lesotho News Agency (LENA),  the IWPG Lesotho Peace Committee Chairperson Mrs ‘Malejaka Letooane, highlighted that the Art competition was organized to mark this year’s Heroes  Day or Africa Day usually observed across Africa on May 25 annually and the activity was held under the theme entitled “Peace Let’s be Friends”.
She said through Art, IWPG is sowing seeds of peace in the minds of children so that when they grow up they can make decisions influenced by peace hence the activity.
She conveyed her gratitude to the Peace Messengers who sponsored this international event in Lesotho, adding that it was conducted successfully.
“The journey to peace continues while the story of peace is being written and I thank you all for being part of it, we owe it to the future generations”, she stated.
The Schools that participated in the Art competition included Joy to the World, Christ The King High School, Leribe English Medium High School, Morifi Community High School and Ribaneng High School. The competition was held for learners at their respective schools.
Since its foundation in September 2013, IWPG has formed a global network that transcends national borders, races, religions and ideologies to realise world peace. There are over 100 branches around the world, Lesotho included.
