Even though some districts that include Thaba Tseka are classified as hard to reach areas, they enjoy a number of benefits.
This is according to the views expressed by some villagers gathered during the Ministry of Social Development dispensation of grants to its beneficiaries in Thaba Tseka on Monday.
In an interview with the Lesotho News Agency (LENA) after observing the payment process at Ha Sekolopata pay-point, Acting Chief, Ms ‘Matlhohonolofatso Sekolopata, stipulated that they enjoy a number of benefits as they have lesser crime records than in the urban areas.
Furthermore, she said while urban areas recorded higher deaths during Covid-19 era a few years ago, this was not the case with them as they buried only three people under the suspicion of Covid-19 in the five villages she leads that include Khubetsoana, Kokoliea and Sekolopata amongst others.
On the same token, Ms ‘Mathato Moromellana of Ha Motoko stated that, despite having no electricity and access roads to some areas, indeed their life was normal during Covid. She added that although their living standards appear to be low, their ways are not as exorbitant as that of the people living in Maseru.
