HIS MAJESTY ACCEPTS LETTERS OF CREDENCE FROM TANZANIA

His Majesty King Letsie III says the ongoing climate change, hunger and poverty call for strengthening  bonds of cooperation among the Southern African Development Community (SADC) member states.

This, he said when accepting letters of credence from the High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania to Lesotho Mr James Bwana at the Royal Palace on Wednesday.

He cited as example how cooperation was strengthened during deployment of SADC troops in Mozambique in response to suppress acts of terrorism, saying this indicated brotherhood as they protected the people of Mozambique.

He further expressed gratitude over support which Lesotho received from Tanzania through SADC when there was political instability. He added that Lesotho continues to enjoy support from the former President of Tanzania Dr Jakaya Kikwete who is now the Chairperson of SADC Panel of Elders- Oversight Committee.

He also highlighted that bonds of cooperation between Lesotho and Mozambique continue to flourish in the Health and Education sectors as their people further studies in both countries.

When presenting his letters of credence, Mr Bwana said it was a privilege to represent Tanzania in Lesotho, saying he counts on Lesotho’s support during his tenure of office.
