Prime Minister Ntsokoane Samuel Matekane, officially opened the 2025 Sebabatso Conference with a powerful message centered on youth empowerment, innovation, and national transformation on Monday at Manthabiseng Convention Centre.
Reflecting on the progress of the past two years, the Prime Minister noted that Lesotho’s economy is gradually becoming a beacon of hope.
He emphasized that Sebabatso is not just a programme, but a movement of transformation that aims to unlock the full potential of the nation’s youth.
“This platform empowers young people to become drivers of development,” he stated. “It offers a space where ideas are cultivated and transformed into enterprises.”
Highlighting the critical role of innovation, Mr. Matekane said the future of Lesotho lies in the hands of innovators. He described Sebabatso as the engine of hope and a national guide uplifting Basotho to climb to greater heights.
The Prime Minister said The Sebabatso programme has significantly supported entrepreneurship in Lesotho, inspiring and enabling young innovators to dream bigger and act boldly. Through its resilience-driven approach, the initiative has given hope to youth across the country, encouraging them to strive for excellence.
Sebabatso has played a vital role in growing local businesses, inspiring a new generation of entrepreneurs, and creating real change within the youth sector.
