Lesotho has taken a leading role in shaping Africa’s position on the global digital agenda during the Africa Region’s Pre-WSIS+20 Information Meeting held in New York, United States of America.
Opening the high-level meeting, the Minister of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation, Ms Nthati Moorosi, called on African countries to adopt a single, unified position ahead of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS+20) global review.
She emphasized that Africa’s priorities on connectivity, a green digital future and inclusive development can only be secured through unity.
The meeting highlighted Lesotho’s growing leadership in continental and global digital governance, supported by strong technical coordination led by the Principal Secretary, Mr Kanono Leronti Ramashamole, working with African Union structures and regional partners.
