Ministry of Information, Communication, Science, Technology and Innovation (MICSTI) and other Government Ministries hosted a Back-to-School event across the country.
The Ministry of Information, Communication, Science, Technology and Innovation was based at Holy Cross High School in Mohale’s Hoek district, Speaking at the event, The Minister, Honourable Nthati Moorosi said the event demonstrates the Ministry’s commitment to improving the quality of education in Lesotho, particularly in remote areas where there are lot of vulnerable children who are faced with numerous challenges that negatively impact their right to education. Then The Principal Secretary of MICSTI, Mr Kanono Ramashamole, added that the occasion also celebrates the achievements of top-performing students in the LGCSE exams and supports needy students who are still studying to ease their educational journey.
Minister Moorosi officially launched the Holy Cross High School new computer laboratory, equipped with about 20 computers connected to fibre internet. Awards and essential school supplies were presented to high-achieving learners, while teachers received trophies, medals, and a cash prize of M1,000 each as token of appreciation.
Minister concluded by expressing gratitude to all stakeholders whose contributions made the event a success including The Minister of Law and Justice, Honourable Richard Ramoeletsi who was present to grace the event.
As mentioned earlier, Different Government Ministers dispersed across the country to celebrate, to mention but a few, Honourable Mokhethi Shelile, The minister of Trade and Industry, was based at Makoanyane Primary school in Maseru district, Honourable Lebona Lephema, The Minister of Local government,Chieftainship, Home Affairs and police was based at Assumption Primary School in Berea district, Honourable Matjato Moteane, The Minister of Public works and Transport was based at Sehong-hong High Schoool in Thaba-tseka district and lastly Honourable Selibe Mochoboroane, The Minister of Health, was also based at Millicent Academy junior school in Leribe district to celebrate with the same purpose.
