LESOTHO GOVERNMENT ADVANCES NATIONAL ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS.

The Government of Lesotho continues to make significant strides in improving road infrastructure across the country through the implementation of major road construction, upgrading, rehabilitation and maintenance projects.

These projects form part of Government’s ongoing commitment to improve connectivity, enhance road safety, facilitate trade and transport, and support economic growth and development in communities nationwide.

The projects currently underway include:

Upgrading and widening of the St. Michael’s – Roma (A5) road in Maseru.

Upgrading of the Thifa – Mosaqane (D4101) gravel road in Qacha’s Nek.

Upgrading of the A1 road from Kotsie to Mokhotlong Hospital.

Upgrading of the A4 road from Ha Mpiti to the Qacha’s Nek border.

Upgrading of the Taung – Matebeng (A4) gravel road in Thaba-Tseka.

Resealing and rehabilitation of the Village Gate – Foso (B3111) road in Berea.

Resealing and rehabilitation of the Makhalanyane – Meeling (B31) road in Maseru.

Rehabilitation of the Matukeng – Mokhalinyane (B321) road in Maseru.

Resealing and rehabilitation of the Moshoeshoe I Airport – Motsekuoa (A2) road in Maseru.

Resealing and rehabilitation of the Thabong – Lakeside (B20) road in Maseru.

Upgrading of the Holy Cross – Sooko (D2007) gravel road in Mohale’s Hoek.

Upgrading of the Seaka – Ketane (B28) gravel road in Mohale’s Hoek.

Upgrading of the ’Makhoroana – Lieta (D1306) gravel road in Berea.

Upgrading of the Mokhotlong – ’Malefiloane (B106) gravel road.

Resealing and rehabilitation of the Seputana – Maqalika (B60) road in Maseru.

Reconstruction of the Bela Bela culvert on the C132 road in Leribe, where a temporary bypass road is currently in use to ensure continuity of traffic flow.

Reconstruction of the culvert on the A1road at Tabola in Leribe.

Reconstruction of the Matebeng Bridge (A4) in Qacha’s Nek.

Reconstruction of the steel bridge at Ha Ramapepe in Leribe.

Reconstruction of the steel bridge at Setanteng, Maphuts’eng in Mohale’s Hoek.

Upgrading of street lighting along the Kofi Annan (A7) road from Ha Tikoe to Ha Pena-Pena in Maseru.

Installation of streetlights along the Ha Pena-Pena – Masianokeng road in Maseru.

Rehabilitation of the A2 road from Motsekuoa to the Mafeteng traffic circle.

Rehabilitation of the Roma – Sekake (A5) road in Maseru.

Rehabilitation of the Butha-Buthe – Caledonspoort (A13) road.

Rehabilitation of the Moroeroe – Khukhune (A1) road in Butha-Buthe.

Rehabilitation of the Mjanyane (C241) road in Quthing.

Rehabilitation of the Malealea (B252-01) road in Mafeteng.

Rehabilitation of the Ribaneng – Matelile (B253) gravel road in Mafeteng.

The Government of Lesotho remains steadfast in its commitment to strengthening national infrastructure in order to improve the lives of Basotho, promote safer and more efficient transportation, and support sustainable socio-economic development throughout the country.
