His Majesty King Letsie III has commissioned Mr Molefi Nyaka as Lesotho’s Ambassador to Washington, United States of America (USA) at the ceremony held at the Royal Palace on Wednesday.
His Majesty highlighted Lesotho’s desire to further strengthen the existing relations between Lesotho and the USA hence the accreditation of Mr Nyaka as Lesotho’s Ambassador.
He urged him to discharge his duties in a manner that will merit the approval of President Donald Trump and prove himself worthy of the assignment given, adding that he should serve the government and the people of Lesotho with honour, loyalty and dignity in his capacity as Ambassador.
He also wished him success on his new assignment, expressing trust that he will make his tour of duty fulfilling and pleasant.
Receiving the charge Mr Nyaka pledged to remain aware of the aspirations, plans and priorities of the King’s government, in the development of the prosperity and well-being of Basotho, and the King’s desire to strengthen the bonds of friendship with other countries.
Mr. Nyaka was the Director of Diaspora Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Relations. Beyond his diplomatic career, he has a strong background in water and community resource management amongst others.
