The Government of Lesotho officially launched the 2026/27 planting season at Lema, Ha Foso by handing over tractors and agricultural equipment to strengthen food production across the country.
A total of 121 tractors have been distributed, including 100 small tractors for constituencies and 21 large tractors. So far, 102 farmers have received financial support from Post Bank, including 30 women and 48 young people, to boost agricultural production.
The Government has also handed over 42 blue tractors, while 21 red tractors have been allocated to key institutions as follows:
Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) – 4
Lesotho Correctional Service (LCS) – 4
Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) – 4
Farmers Training Centres – 6
Lesotho Agricultural College – 2
Lerotholi Polytechnic – 1
