LESOTHO JOINS COMMONWEALTH DIGITAL LEADERS AT CTO@125

The delegation comprises representatives of the Ministry of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation (MICSTI), the Embassy of the Kingdom of Lesotho in the United Kingdom and the Lesotho Communications Authority (LCA).

The delegation is led by Minister of MICSTI, Ms. Nthati Moorosi, and includes Principal Secretary Mr. Kanono Ramashamole, Director General ICT Mr. Thapeli Tjabane, Lesotho’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Mosuoe Letuma, LCA Chief Executive Officer Mr Nizam Goolam and LCA Public Affairs Manager Ms Mothepane Kotele.

Monday’s programme centres on the Commonwealth Digital Nexus, a high-level forum examining how emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can drive digital transformation and innovation.

The Principal Secretary MICSTI, Mr Ramashamole is serving as the forum’s Master of Ceremonies.

The programme features two panel sessions during which industry leaders and experts will examine the opportunities, challenges and critical decisions organisations face as AI adoption accelerates globally.

The discussions will among others consider practical ways of building more inclusive, resilient and future-ready digital ecosystems.

Lesotho’s participation comes as the country advances its National Digital Transformation Strategy, with priorities including connectivity, digital skills, innovation and the use of technology to improve public services and economic opportunities.

It also builds on Lesotho’s recent engagement with the CTO earlier this year, when the country hosted the CTO Council Meeting and Digital Roadshow.

Through its participation at CTO@125, Lesotho is continuing to strengthen Commonwealth partnerships and pursue practical cooperation in digital transformation.

The anniversary programme marks 125 years of Commonwealth digital cooperation and continues on September 29 and 30 with the Ministerial Alliance for Digital Nations.
