The Ministry of Health is expected to roll out Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine starting from Wednesday.
The Pfizer vaccine makes it to the list of the other existing vaccines in the country namely Johnson and Johnson, Sinopharm, Astra Zeneca.
According to a press statement released by the Ministry of Health, the Pfizer vaccine will be administered to people aged 12 years to 17 years.
The vaccine is expected to start at the districts of Maseru, Leribe, Berea and Mafeteng and the remaining districts are expected to follow as soon as the vaccination is completed at the aforementioned districts.
Meanwhile, the Ministry made the nation aware of the alarming rate of new COVID-19 infections which the country has been recording for the past days also urging the nation to continue with all the precautionary measures that align with staying safe from COVID-19.
This comes after Paray Hospital Administrator announced last week that the hospital was filled to capacity and will no longer be able to admit COVID-19 patients except for critical ones.
Sister Clara Ramokhomo stated in an interview that they have already admitted about 93 COVID-19 patients both students and middle-aged people.
She stated that currently most of the admitted patients were not critical and did not need oxygen except for six Ntaote High School students and one Paray High School student who was in ICU.
Currently, there are 23,128 registered positive cases while the death toll stands at 664.
