The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Mr Lejone Mpotjoane, has announced that the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has pledged US$5 million, equivalent to approximately M92.5 million, to support Lesotho’s agricultural development.
Mr Mpotjoane explained that the pledge forms part of FAO’s commitment under the Special Programme for Accelerated Agri-Food Systems Transformation in Lesotho, which aims to boost food production, strengthen resilience, and enhance farmers’ livelihoods across the country.
The Minister expressed the Government of Lesotho’s appreciation for FAO’s continued partnership and commitment to transforming Lesotho’s agriculture sector for a more food-secure and prosperous future.
