The Minister of Communications, Science and Technology, also Government Spokesperson, Mr. Tšoinyana Rapapa has announced that the presentation of the 2022/ 23 Fiscal Budget which was meant to be presented in the National Assembly on February 25, 2022 (Friday) has been postponed.
Mr. Rapapa said the Minister of Finance, Mr. Thabo Sophonea will therefore present predictions of the budget on Wednesday, March 02, 2022.
Mr. Rapapa cited the inauguration of the Principal Chief of Ha Maama, Chief Mitchell Seeiso Maama to be held at Roma on Friday as one of the main reasons for the postponement of the budget.
Moreover, he attributed the postponement to issues that emerged at World Leaders African Union (AU) European Union (EU) Summit relating to the Millennium Challenge Corporation Compact ll.
“Some of the issues that emerged at the summit, particularly those relating to the compact and economy ought to appear in the budget,” he stressed.
The Government through the Government Spokesperson has apologised to the nation for the inconvenience caused by this delay, urging all to be alert ahead of next week.
