His Majesty King Letsie III has commissioned Mr. Lebeko Sello and Mr. Ts’iu Khathibe as Lesotho’s Ambassadors to Italy as well as Swiss Confederation and Permanent Representative of the United Nations at Geneva, the World Trade Organization and other International Organizations in Switzerland respectively.
His Majesty highlighted that Lesotho`s desire is to maintain existing relations with Italy and Switzerland hence their accreditation as Ambassadors.
He urged them to discharge their duties in a manner that will merit approval of Presidents of both countries and prove themselves worthy of the assignment given.
“I charge you to serve the government and people of Lesotho with honor, loyalty and dignity in your capacity as Ambassadors” he stressed.
In conclusion, he wished them success on their new assignments and added that he trusts they will find their tour of duty fulfilling and pleasant.
On the other hand, both Mr Khathibe and Mr Sello pledged to discharge duties which they have been entrusted by the government with dedication and devotion.
Mr Khathibe, who couldn’t hold his emotions with tears flowing paused for a minute and pledged to remain aware of the aspirations, plans and priorities of the King’s government, in the development of the prosperity and well-being of the people of Lesotho, and the King’s desire to strengthen the bonds of friendship with other countries of the world and, especially Switzerland to which he is being accredited.
Mr Khathibe is the former Deputy Chief Executive Officer of National Reforms Authority while Mr Sello is the former Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftainship.
Mr Sello will be replacing Chief Thesele ‘Maseribane while Mr Khathibe will replace Mr Thabang Matjama.
