GOVERNMENT APPRECIATED BASOTHO PARTICIPATION IN MOSHOESHOE’S DAY COMMEMORATION AND DIAMOND JUBILEE LOGO UNVEILING

The office of the Government Spokesperson extends heartfelt appreciation to all Basotho who participated in the Moshoeshoe’s Day commemoration held on 11 March 2026 at Thaba-Bosiu Cultural Village.
We thank those who attended in person and those who joined remotely from across the country and the diaspora. Your engagement reflects the unity and deep respect Basotho continue to show for our founding father, King Moshoeshoe I.
The wreath-laying by His Majesty King Letsie III, the Right Honourable the Prime Minister, and the Principal Chiefs of Makhoakhoa, Bataung and Batlokoa symbolized the nation’s collective honour for Moshoeshoe I and the enduring principles he left us: unity, compassion, diplomacy and nation-building.
The ceremony also featured the unveiling of the official logo for Lesotho’s 60th Independence Anniversary- the Diamond Jubilee- by His Majesty the King. As preparations for this historic celebration continue, Basotho are encouraged to proudly use the national colours and the Diamond Jubilee logo.
Government invites all citizens, public institutions, the private sector, civil society, and the Basotho diaspora to incorporate the Jubilee branding into their activities and products, including apparel, events, publications, and community celebrations. This promotes national pride while supporting business growth and contributing to the national economy.
We urge all who use the logo to do so respectfully, recognizing it as a symbol of national identity and pride.
As Moshoeshoe’s Day activities continue nationwide throughout the week, Government encourages ongoing participation as we honour Moshoeshoe I and strengthen national unity.
