The Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho has strengthened digital connectivity in Mafeteng through the installation of two cellphone towers at Ha-Lepolesa and Tsupane, as well as the establishment of two fully equipped computer laboratories at Bereng High School and Masentle High School.
The initiative was handed over by a delegation led by The Deputy Prime Minister, Honourable Justice Nthomeng Majara, accompanied by the Minister of Public Works and Transport, Honourable Matjato Moteane, and the Minister of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation, Honourable Nthati Moorosi.
Speaking during the handover, Honourable Nthati Moorosi said the project forms part of Government’s broader efforts to bridge the digital divide and equip learners with essential ICT skills. She explained that access to computers and the internet will strengthen research capacity, improve teaching and learning, and prepare students for a technology-driven future.
The Minister further urged learners, teachers and communities to take good care of the equipment to ensure that it serves future generations.
In the same district, The Deputy Prime Minister Honourable Justice Nthomeng Majara inaugurated streetlights at Mafeteng traffic circle and handed over the newly built house to one resident who lost own to a natural disaster.
