LESOTHO, INDIA SIGN “MOU”

 Minister Nthati Moorosi, Minister of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation, today led the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) of the Republic of India.

The signing ceremony took place during the official visit of His Excellency Mr Pabitra Margherita, Honourable Minister of State for External Affairs of India.

Minister Moorosi described the agreement as a milestone in Lesotho–India relations, paving the way for stronger cooperation in areas such as digitization, e-governance, artificial intelligence, and digital innovation. She expressed confidence that this partnership will enhance public service delivery, support youth entrepreneurship, and accelerate Lesotho’s digital transformation.
Lesotho stands to benefit from India’s successful experience through India Stack, a model for digital public goods that is already transforming economies and improving governance across the globe.
In his remarks, Minister Margherita reaffirmed the strong and historic ties between Lesotho and India, and expressed interest in expanding collaboration in agriculture, healthcare, tourism, infrastructure, and renewable energy.
