LESOTHO, SA SIGN MoU’s

At least 6 Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) were signed by the government of Lesotho and that of South Africa at the second session of the Binational Commission that is currently ongoing in Maseru.

The MoUs were signed in the agreement on fields such as the proposal of the construction of 2 ways on the Mohokare/Caledon river and was signed by the Minister of Natural Resources, Mr Mohlomi Moleko together with Ms Pemmy Castelina Pamela Majodina

The second Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Minister of Education and Training for Lesotho, Professor Ntoi Rapapa together with his counterpart Dr Nobuhle Pamela Nkabane.

On the MoU on basic education, Professor Ntoi Rapapa signed together with Ms Siviwe Gwarube.

Additionally, Mr Limpho Tau together with Ms Angelina Motshekga signed an MoU on defence and military relations.

Mr.Pitso Lesaoana who is the Minister of Gender, Youth and Social Development also signed an MoU with Ms Nokuzola Tolashe who is the Minister of Social Development in South Africa.

Moreover, the Minister of Trade, Industry and Business development Mr Mokhethi Shelile signed an MoU on economic cooperation together with his South African counterpart Mr Mpho Tau.

A binational commission is a diplomatic and cooperative mechanism established between two countries to strengthen bilateral relations and address issues of mutual interest.
