PM LAUNCHES ELECTRIFICATION PROJECT IN MOKEMA

 Prime Minister Ntsokoane Matekane launched the electrification project for the Mokema community, bringing power and renewed hope to hundreds of households and public facilities in the area.
Speaking at event on Friday, the Prime Minister began by directing the Minister of Education to ensure that students in Mokema receive the computers they had requested—emphasizing government’s commitment to both education and technology access.
He further highlighted that clean water is now available to the community, following engagement with the Minister of Natural Resources.
A total of 744 households have been connected to electricity, including Ramaqhanyane High School, Mokema Primary School, the local health Centre, and the chief’s office.
“The Government is prioritizing access to electricity to improve the lives of Basotho,” the Prime Minister said, noting that the national goal is for every Mosotho to have access to electricity by the year 2030.
He encouraged the community to take care of the infrastructure as it is vital not only for daily life but also for the growth of local businesses.
Similarly, the Minister of Natural Resources, Mr Mohlomi Moleko reaffirmed the government’s commitment to service delivery, stating that bringing clean water and other essential services to Mokema is not a favour, but a duty.
Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for Koro-Koro, Mr Mahatanya Abinyane, expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the community, stating that electricity has been a long-standing need and he is proud that the community can now enjoy this vital service.
