Ministry of Energy and Mining through the Lesotho Electricity Generation Company is launching the phase II of the Ramarothole Solar Power project Mafeteng.
The expansion will add 50MW of renewable energy generation capacity to the already existing 30MW from phase I bringing the total capacity of the Ramarothole plant to 80MW.
The project will also include an 8MW Battery energy storage system enabling electricity generated directly the day to be stored and used at night for reliable and energy security.
