LNDC TALKS CREDIT, INVESTMENT, BUSINESS EMPOWERMENT

Lesotho National Development Corporation conducted a workshop on Thursday last week to disseminate information to various stakeholders on credit opportunities, investment and business empowerment.

Addressing attendants on behalf of the LNDC Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Puseletso Makhakhe said the corporation has switched its motto from “We build industry” to “Together we build sustainable industry”.

Mrs Makhakhe said the transition simply means that LNDC is for everyone and supports each business in Lesotho that needs boosting and empowerment.

She highlighted that a new office will be set up in Mohale’s Hoek for inquiries and administrative purposes.

On the same note,  Mrs Phomotso Majolina from the Investment and Trade Promotion Unit said her office is responsible for initiating, promoting and facilitating investments from foreign and indigenous investors and promoting and facilitating exports.

It also provides technical assistance to new and existing investors, business expansion and retention.

Mrs Majolina highlighted that doors are always open for further clarifications and inquiries on partial credit plans and investment support services.

On the other hand, Mr Mahooana Mahooana, a local entrepreneur and farmer said he was blown away by the presentations and he had learnt a lot from LNDC staff and other stakeholders.

Mr Mahooana said it wise for the locals especially those who are in business to write up funding proposals so that they are liable for funding.

He applauded the corporation and its business partners for empowering indigenous business community.

Notable stakeholders at the workshop included commercial banks like Nedbank, Standard Lesotho Bank, Post Bank, First National Bank, LNIG Hollard, Letshego Financial Service to mention just a few.
