In the quest to promote and advocate for the rights and well-being of women and girls across the country, six women champions who have been actively engaged in advancing gender equality initiatives were honored with recognition awards during the commemoration of International Women’s Day in Maseru.
Speaking on behalf of the awardees, Ms. Mats’eliso Lemenoane said that the recognition serves as motivation for them to continue supporting women and girls with love, dignity and encouragement.
She mentioned that the award not only acknowledges their individual efforts but also highlights the collective responsibility of society to ensure that women and girls are empowered and protected.
She added that continued collaboration among communities, government and organizations is essential in advancing gender equality and creating opportunities for women and girls to thrive.
Ms. Lemenoane further encouraged women to remain united and continue advocating for their rights while uplifting one another in different spheres of life.
The other recipients include Ms. Mathe Masupha, Ms. Mpati Kukame, Ms. Refiloehape Sesinyi, Mrs. ‘Mats’episo Mokhoromeng and Ms. Nthabeleng Mabitle.
