CHINESE AMBASSADOR BADE FAREWELL

The People’s Republic of China’s Embassy  held a reception farewell for its outgoing Ambassador to the Kingdom of Lesotho Mr Lei Kezhong in Maseru on Wednesday evening.

Speaking at this event, the Minister of Social Development on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations,  Mr Pitso Lesaoana commended Mr Kezhong for his unwavering commitment in ensuring Lesotho develops and prospers.

He highlighted that during Mr Kezhong tenure, Basotho witnessed  developments in different sectors across the country.

Furthermore, he urged Basotho to reflect on the good relations they have built with the Chinese Community and copy from them a few development projects that will make Lesotho a better place.

In his remarks Mr Kezhong said that since his arrival in Lesotho in 2019, he is proud of the good relations that the two countries have built while working together for the benefit of the people of both countries.

He said that the government of the People’s Republic of China has supported the Kingdom of Lesotho in a number of sectors such in the development of infrastructure as the Sehlaba-Thebe road, the Ramarothole solar plant and the refurbishment of the Queen Elizabeth II hospital among others.

He said that the People’s Republic of China government has also offered support to the country of Lesotho by hosting over 800 Basotho from both the private and public sector to attend seminars and summits of development in China.

On behalf of the Chinese Community in Lesotho, Mr Li Wen Shu wished Mr Kezhong well in his future endeavors saying that his efforts are well noticeable.

He said that for all the five years, he has strengthened relations for the two countries  and that his effrots are recognizable.
