BEREA CELEBRATES KING’S BIRTHDAY IN STYLE

Lioli, Maroala and Mats’ekha have celebrated the 62nd birthday of His Majesty King Letsie III with cultural and traditional dances at Teyateyaneng Pitso House on Thursday.

His Majesty arrived at the venue with escort from the Lesotho Mounted Police Service and was cheered on by Basotho, saying “Happy birthday Your Majesty”.

On conveying birthday wishes to His Majesty, Prime Minister (PM) Mr Ntsokoane Samuel Matekane said King Letsie III has touched the hearts of Basotho with kindness and love. He wished him prosperity, health, peace and love. He added his Majesty’s legacy will forever be remembered, and urged him to continue to guide the nation to peace and prosperity.

Echoing the same sentiments, Botswana President Advocate Duma Gideon Boko remarked that they are grateful to  celebrate the birthday of the King of Basotho nation. He said that they are also recognize and appreciate his immense contribution to the nation, Southern African Development Community and the Africa continent at large.

In conclusion, he said his presence in Lesotho was meant to affirm a strong bond of friendship and brotherhood of two nations of Botswana and Lesotho. And he wished King Letsie III a happy birthday and prosperous life.

Among the dignitaries who attended the occasion were the Eswatini Army Commander Lieutenant General Hulumende Mashikilisane Fakudze.

The Christian Council of Lesotho (CCL)  defined King Letsie III as a symbol of unity, and took turns to pray for God’s divine protection of his life, national peace and stability.
