The Kingdom of Lesotho participated in the 12th Commonwealth Sports Ministers Meeting (CSMM) 2026, held in Glasgow, Scotland, represented by the Honourable Minister of Sports, Arts, Culture and Tourism, Mr Stephen Mputi, leading the country’s delegation. The delegation included the High Commissioner of the Kingdom of Lesotho to the Court of St. James’s, H.E. Mr Mosuoe Letuma, senior government officials from the Ministry responsible for Sports, and representatives of the Lesotho Commonwealth Games Association.
On the margins of the meeting, Honourable Mputi held a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Republic of India, H.E. Dr Mansukh Mandaviya to explore opportunities for enhanced cooperation in the field of sports and to further strengthen the longstanding bilateral relations between the two countries.
The discussions focused on sports development, capacity building, youth empowerment and collaboration within the Commonwealth Games framework. Both Ministers reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepen cooperation through the finalization of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which is expected to provide a framework for future collaboration and promote stronger Commonwealth partnerships.
The engagement reflects Lesotho’s commitment to foster international partnerships that contribute to national sports development and the advancement of mutual interests through diplomacy and cooperation.
