The Moshoeshoe walk is 116km an annual event that last for three [3] days founded in 2007 and meant to trace King Moshoeshoe 1 1824 trek from Menkhoaneng to Thaba-bosiu taken to establish a stronghold during Lifaqane Wars. This event commemorates the Basotho nation’s Founder around March 11 to honor legacy of Moshoeshoe 1 for his diplomatic skills and peace-loving nature as well as to promote Humanity, unity, heritage and culture among Basotho Nation.
Since its inception, the walk has grown from few Basotho participants to hundreds of local and international walkers fostering tourism whereby locals along the route provides food and accomodation to walkers.
