The 154-kilometre road will connect communities across Maseru, Mafeteng and Mohale’s Hoek districts, stretching from around Ha-Rantšitse through Moitšupeli, Ha-Mosala, Malealea Lodge, Ha-Mokhothu, ’Masemousu, Ha-Tlali, Ha-Mpalipali, Ha-Sekhaupane and Ha-Thakabanna.
The road is planned to be upgraded from gravel to a tarred road, improving connectivity and access for communities in the three districts while supporting economic activities, tourism and the movement of people and goods.
The project is currently undergoing a feasibility study which will lead to the detailed planning and its implementation.
Government is expected to include the project in the National Budget for the next financial year, paving the way for its implementation and upgrading.
