The Office of the Government Secretary informs the Nation that His Majesty King Letsie III has accepted the Right Honourable Prime Minister’s advice to effect the following changes in the Cabinet of the Kingdom of Lesotho, with effect from 29 April 2026:
1. Honourable Mokhethi Shelile and Honourable Letsema Adontsi have been released from Cabinet.
2. Honourable Selibe Mochoboroane moves from the Ministry of Health to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition.
3. Honourable Lebona Lephema moves from the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Business Development.
4. Honourable Lejone Mpotjoane moves from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Relations to the newly established Ministry of Energy and Mining.
5. Honourable Thabo Mofosi moves from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
6. Honourable Limpho Tau moves from the Prime Minister’s Office to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Relations.
7. Honourable ’Mamokete Ntšekhe is appointed Minister in the Ministry of Health.
8. Honourable Voeswa Tsheka is appointed Minister in the newly established Ministry of Home Affairs and Police.
9. Honourable Nkhethoa Seetsa had been appointed Minister in the newly established Ministry of Local Government and Chieftainship. However, he has formally informed His Majesty of his intention to decline the appointment. Accordingly, the necessary legal processes will be undertaken to give effect to this decision, and he will not be sworn in as scheduled.
10. Honourable ’Makatleho Motsoasele is appointed Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office.
A swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed Ministers will be held on Thursday, 30 April 2026 at the Royal Palace, excluding Honourable Nkhethoa Seetsa.
These announcements are made through Legal Notice No. 39 of 2026 on Removal of Ministers; Legal Notice No. 40 of 2026 on Allocation of Portfolios to Ministers; and Legal Notice No. 41 of 2026 on Appointment of Ministers and Allocation of Portfolios.
