The ministry of health officially launched Lenacapavir injection in Botha-Bothe district making a major step forward in HIV prevention in Lesotho.
Lenacapavir is administered just once every six months, offering a more convenient and sustained form of protection.
Health stakeholders emphasized that this innovation could significantly strengthen HIV prevention efforts in Lesotho by reducing the challenges associated with daily medication adherence and improving access to reliable prevention methods.
The introduction of Lenacapavir also supports Lesotho’s national goal of ending new HIV infections by 2030.
All stakeholders, Government leaders, healthcare organizations, and community members, all came together to reaffirm their commitment to work together to build a healthier, HIV-free future generation.
